Lake Elsinore City Hall Investigation
Project Summary
City of Lake Elsinore (2022)
Lake Elsinore City Hall is located at 100 South Main Street in the Historic
Downtown Main Street area of Lake Elsinore, CA. The proposed project consists
of a new 3-level building addition to the existing Lake Elsinore City Hall facility.
The new building will occupy approximately 14,000 square feet in plan view. It will
be a steel-frame structure with shallow continuous and isolated spread footings.
IFE Role
IFE was retained by the City to conduct a geotechnical investigation for the
purpose of developing geotechnical engineering recommendations for project
design and construction. Our services included engineering geology review,
subsurface exploration, laboratory testing and report preparation. The geotechnical engineering report addressed:
- Allowable soil bearing pressure
- 2019 CBC default seismic design parameter
- General site grading recommendations
- Passive and Active/at-rest earth pressure
- Soil liquefaction and seismically-induced settlement
- Laboratory test results
