New Apparatus Bay for Fire Station No. 77

Project
Summary

Cal Fire/Riverside County
Fire Department (2022)
The new fire apparatus bay is located to the west of the existing fire house. The apparatus bay is a single story structure encompassing 3,124 square feet. A separate on-site septic system consisting of a septic tank and leach lines was designed and constructed for the new apparatus bay. Foundations for the structure consisted of shallow spread and continuous footings with a concrete slab-on-grade floor.

IFE Role

IFE performed a geotechnical investigation, on site waste water treatment system design and infiltration testing. The geological review addressed geologic setting, groundwater and faulting, seismic design parameters, and secondary seismic hazards. Geotechnical evaluation included review of subsurface materials, laboratory testing, and recommendations for foundation design, lateral resistance, earth pressure, and expansive soil. IFE also provided geotechnical engineering and on site material testing services for the construction of the new apparatus bay and drive approaches.
