San Jacinto Valley Raw Water Conveyance Facilities
Project Summary
Eastern Municipal Water District (2020 – Present)
The 2.5-mile, 60-inch San Jacinto Valley Raw Water Conveyance Facility (SJVRWCF)
commenced on Esplande Avenue east of Warren Road, and extends south along
Sanderson Avene and east along Commonwealth Avenue to near Kirby Street in the
Cities of San Jacinto and Hemet, California. The project consists of a connection to
MWD’s Eastside Pipeline (EM-25 service connection), a flow control facility, and
chlorination treatment facility and will convey raw water from the EM-25 connection point
to EMWD’s existing Hemet Water Filtration Plant. Phase 2 of the project will convey
water to EMWD’s Enhanced Recharge and Recovery Ponds.
IFE Role
IFE performed the design-level geotechnical investigations and the
geotechnical baseline reports for the project. The investigation included data
review of previous studies in the vicinity, 12 exploratory borings to depths of 26
ft. along the pipeline path, slope stability analysis, seismic refraction survey,
seismic parameters, soil corrosivity study, mapped soil series and groundwater
data review. IFE is currently conducting compaction testing and observation
during pipeline construction.
